Once again this Administration has proven that not only can they not be trusted to tell the truth, but that they have yet again whored themselves (and the American public) out to big business and the oil companies.
The Llama Ate My Flipflops.
Once again this Administration has proven that not only can they not be trusted to tell the truth, but that they have yet again whored themselves (and the American public) out to big business and the oil companies.
This story filed recently will break your heart:
From Terri Judd, Independent UK posted on Alternet:

“In Basra alone, police acknowledge that 15 women a month are murdered for breaching Islamic dress codes. Others say the number is higher.”
Guys
Sometimes ya just gotta let ‘em be guys. And it isn’t “guy”…you have to get the pronunciation just right…it’s a hard guttural Germanic “Giiieeezz”.
They can be civilized for long periods of time, when out of the blue…”Guyness” descends upon them and there is just no telling what they’ll likely do.
You know…
“We the People” need to do more than sit on our butts and let “government” and “corporations” tell us what is good for us or to “shut down” any research of innovations that could take us off of our dependence on foreign oil.

Time…infinite time…finite time. Which?
Human beings tend to view time as infinite. We know intellectually that most things in life end and begin again but in our heart of hearts we doubt that it applies to us. Until there comes a moment where one has a “close call” or witnesses loss of life [...]
Taking a break and just doing some reading. Here’s some of the interesting things I’ve found.
“Off-the-Grid” has a nice ring to it. There are numerous ways to achieve that goal. However, each energy producing system/method has its benefits and detractions. One of the most glaring problems is that energy is not being produced when the source for that energy is not available.
Women everywhere are elated that America finally has a woman running for our highest office. Many of them were angered at McCain’s opposition to an equal pay bill in the Senate.

Equal pay for equal work is a battle I thought we’d won back in the day, but here it comes again. [...]
Mornin’ fellow travelers,
Something the guys and I have been talking about for a while is starting to make MSM news. Food shortages.
Forgot to add this important info from Bev Harris of Black Box Voting. It’s an HBO documentary that is well worth your time to watch:
Hacking Democracy part one
Hi ya’ll,
Yes, the computer techno impaired is going to talk about voting machines. I think I broke the entire internet yesterday, so this should be fun.
Quoted from this morning’s news:
NEW ORLEANS (Reuters) - President George W. Bush on Tuesday said the U.S. economy was not in a recession but was experiencing a slowdown.
“We’re not in a recession, we’re in a slowdown,” Bush said at a news conference at the end of a two-day summit with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen [...]
Yay! For once, the news on the tellie doesn’t make me growl. Tons of hopeful articles about efforts to repair our planet.
Saw bi-partisan efforts to raise awareness!
Life is looking very upbeat today.
Out mixing it up with posters on The Huff today. The topic was ChimptiDoodle’s appearance on Deal or No Deal…so I sang my new song for the folks:
He’s our ChimptiDoodle Dandy
ChimptiDoodle people die
A real live moron with a permanent sneer
He’s ‘nanner trained to tell lies
This post is the last on the organization and ideas behind the Menopausal Movement. I saved the happy news for last…well, “happy” may not be the best word to describe the news…but as a friend of mine is fond of saying:
“It is what it is.”
Motivating Mondays
I added another sentence to my email to the Democratic Party this morning. Since recent polls have either candidate in a tie with McCain, I added a little something to the “or no Money” admonishment.
“Stop attacking other Democratic candidates and focus on the Republicans or lose to McCain.”
(Had to pull this post and redo. It was a song that was yelling at me to get written, but I started working on it about 2 in the am and according to my brother-in-law, Joe…parts of it should actually rhyme…picky…details…heh. We’ll get it recorded and uploaded to the site as soon as [...]
Almost home…well, almost back to Don and the critters. Corey and I have been in the Ozarks for the last couple of weeks. I think that’s gonna be our new home. Parts of that area are astoundingly beautiful.
Reading Huffington today, which I’m starting to do religiously.
Today’s alarming jewel:
I miss my Bonnie. It was best for her that I found a rancher interested in raising a few llamas to guard his goat herds but not seeing her looking in the sliding glass door of the porch is sad and I miss her more than I ever thought I would.
Can we all just grow on up about this? Oh, for goodness sakes. It’s a bunch of silliness. It’s like claiming “evolution” is based on questionable science/theory…or that the jury might still be out on “global warming”…or any of the dozens of areas where some folks keep trying to drag us back [...]
We like this one for quite a few reasons… (Not the least of which is the fact that it really pisses off First Amendment opponents like Clear Channel Communications.)
I love writing letters. It’s a simple and quick way to make myself feel better after somebody, (usually that chimp currently in the White House,) has pissed me off. I hold no illusions that my letter is going to “change the world,” or even affect it much. It just makes me feel better. I have [...]
Eventually, we’ll get all posts related to the ideas behind the Menopausal Mayhem Movement organized and set up in a plug-in thingamabob like the sitemap.
For now, this post is the next to last specific to the Movement and continues ideas expressed in part 5.
We are a very peace loving folk. I mean, we go by the philosophy of live and let live. Specially when it comes to critters both domestic and wild. People on the other hand… well, that’s another story. As I was saying, we don’t normally harm wild critters unless it’s [...]
Quick way to have alternative energy/solar power cheap and mainstream capable:
Take one or two weeks worth of the taxpayer’s money that is being thrown at Iraq. (no idea what that figure might be, but it’s probably Big…Lots…)
Alternative energy as a national pursuit is as easy as we let it be. The only reason any sane person is hesitant to get on with it (other than the obvious people with financial reason to keep oil use alive) is fear of change.
Water…
It is the basic need that has to be provided for any prospect of living “Off-the-Grid”. Without water, we can’t raise crops, livestock, or ourselves. Once a place has been set to be our “homestead”, two things must first be accomplished. One is to locate a source for water [...]
Watchin’ ‘ole Nancy and company on Cspan tonight and they are responding to ChimptiDoodle’s most recent round of lying to the American public.
And it’s along the lines of:
A site map…yes…yes…Woohoo!
The site is starting to handle less like a pregnant pig on roller skates and more like a puppy on hardwood floors. Corey tells me we seem to have a steady stream of folks coming here and according to the average of something or other… they’re hanging around for a bit.
Ever read Hawking? Specifically, his A Brief History of Time? It has an excellent explanation of the strange/magical world of quantum theory and it is written for the layperson. Real good read.
Having my mornin’ coffee.
Phone rings. It’s Don back home in Texas telling me he finally heard from the LCRA and he’s our bean counter and he has that tone to his voice that he can get… a might bit worried and such.
So, I brace myself and:
“Okay, lemme’ have it… what’s the bottom line?”
ChimptiDoodle…ChimptiDoodle…that’s what I call him. It has a certain something…
‘Yes, he’s our ChimptiDoodle Dandy.
ChimptiDoodle my oh my
A real live… (I can’t quite get Fargin’ Bastidge to rhyme up yet but I’m workin’ on it)’
Yeah, THAT silly ditty isn’t gonna get stuck in your brain and become annoying. Really. It won’t. It [...]
